Ribbon Cutting Celebrates Connexus Energy’s Ramsey II Renewable Station
Connexus Energy, along with the Anoka Area Chamber and the City of Ramsey, recently held a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the opening of the Ramsey II Renewable Station—a groundbreaking solar project that transforms underutilized land into a source of clean, renewable energy, ten years in the making!
Located on nearly 30 acres of the closed Anoka-Ramsey Landfill, the 4.125-megawatt solar array features 8,700 panels and is expected to produce enough energy annually to power approximately 750–790 homes.
The project is the first solar array constructed on a closed landfill in Minnesota, demonstrating how land with limited redevelopment potential can be transformed into productive energy infrastructure—a true “brownfield to brightfield” success story.
The City of Ramsey is proud to be part of the collaboration among Connexus Energy, the State of Minnesota, and other partners that helped make this innovative project a reality.
