Training Resources

Dual Training Pipeline Grant - The Minnesota Dual‑Training Pipeline is a workforce development initiative that helps employers build earn‑and‑learn programs by pairing structured on‑the‑job training with formal instruction. It serves high‑growth sectors such as advanced manufacturing, agriculture, child care, health care services, information technology, legal cannabis, and transportation.

  • Employers participating in Pipeline can access Dual Training Grants administered through the Minnesota Office of Higher Education to subsidize training costs, with funding available to support employee tuition, fees, materials, and trainee support expenses.

Incumbent Worker Training - Boost employee skills and increase the competitiveness of your current workforce by providing training for in-demand skills and/or certifications.

Minnesota Skills-Based Hiring Accelerator - A statewide initiative aimed at helping Minnesota employers shift from credential-focused hiring to a skills- and competence-based recruitment and talent development model. Instead of emphasizing degrees or years of experience, the program centers on objectively defined knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for specific roles. This approach is more predictive of job performance, attracts more applicants, and results in cost savings and improved retention for employers.

SciTech STEM Internship Program - SciTech connects STEM college students (science, technology, engineering and math) to paid internships that provide rewarding hands-on experience in small Minnesota businesses. Employers receive assistance in finding qualified candidates and a wage reimbursement to cover 50% of the intern’s wages (capped at $2,500) when they hire a student through SciTech.

Business Succession Planning

A business succession plan ensures long-term stability and continuity. Succession planning prepares for the smooth transfer of leadership or ownership in case of retirement, unexpected departures, or emergencies. It helps minimize disruptions, retain key talent, preserve customer and employee confidence, and protect the business’s value. Ultimately, it positions the company for sustained success and growth beyond the current leadership.
