Special Event Permits

Large outdoor or indoor public events that may create noise or disruption to traffic require a Special Events permit. These events may include religious, community, or business outdoor events, marathons, and similar activities. Private events on private property (such as outdoor weddings or graduations) do not require a permit.

Prior notification of a private event to the Ramsey Police Department at 763-427-1212 is beneficial if traffic or noise may affect neighboring businesses or residents.

The license application review and approval process may take up to 30 days. It is recommended that you submit this application at least 60 days before the event. Business licenses are issued upon approval by the City Council. Refer to City Code Chapter 26 Article XI for ordinance details. The Special Events license is valid only for the day of the event.
