Mobile Food Unit License

Applications should be submitted at least 2-3 weeks prior to your event taking place in the City of Ramsey, located in Anoka County. MFU Licenses are valid through December 31 of the licensing year. A fire inspection is included and is valid for other cities within Anoka County that require fire inspections.

Mobile Food Unit (MFU) licenses are required for:

• Food trucks and vendors operating in the City and selling to the public. 
  Example: A food truck selling to the public in a gas station parking lot.
• Food trucks and vendors operating in the City at private events on City property.
  Example: Food truck at a graduation party in one of the City parks.

Mobile food unit licenses are not required for:

• Food trucks or vendors operating on private property for private (invitation-only) events that are not open to the public. 
  Example: A private business invites a food truck to serve lunch to its employees on its property.

What You Will Need to Apply

• License fee $190
• Certificate of liability insurance with “City of Ramsey” listed as additional certificate holder
• Anoka County Food/Beverage* license or Minnesota Department of Agriculture license (Note: we cannot accept MDH certificates only)
• Recent photo of the applicant for the City-issued ID badge
• Certificate of workers’ compensation insurance (as required)
