MSA Bunker Lake Blvd. Reconstruction IP 26-01

April 24, 2025

A proposal to prepare plans and specifications was awarded to Bolton & Menk, Inc. on April 22. Bolton & Menk, Inc. will also complete a topographic survey of the City-owned right-of-way. A letter was sent out to the companies within the project scope. 

March 3, 2026

On Tuesday, February 24, the Ramsey City Council awarded a construction contract for Bunker Lake Blvd to North Valley, Inc. An update letter was mailed to company owners in the project area.

January 28, 2026

On Tuesday, January 13, the Ramsey City Council approved plans and authorized bidding for the above project. An update letter was mailed out to company owners on the project scope. 

June 26, 2026

On Friday, June 26, Bunker Lake Boulevard has been reopened to traffic. The project is now considered substantially complete, and only minor punch list items remain. The City would like to thank property owners and the traveling public for their patience during construction.

June 18, 2026

On Thursday, June 18, the contractor paved the final lift of pavement. Next week, the contractor plans to install pavement markings.

June 5, 2026 

The Contractor proposes to pave the final lift of the new pavement on Wednesday, June 10. This is weather-dependent. 

May 28, 2026

To date, the contractor has placed all new concrete curbs and gutters and concrete valley gutters. The concrete pedestrian ramps and median will be placed after the first lift of bituminous pavement.

On Saturday, May 30, the contractor will begin tolerancing gravel and hauling out excess material. The first pavement lift is currently scheduled for Tuesday, June 2.

May 15, 2026

Through Friday, May 15, the contractor has relocated all fire hydrants, rough graded the ditch, and performed all concrete removals.

On May 18, the contractor proposes to reclaim (grind up) the existing pavement. This process may take up to 2 days. Following reclamation, the contractor proposes installing the storm sewer, which is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

May 1, 2026

Bunker Lake Boulevard will be closed between Armstrong Boulevard and Jackal Street beginning Tuesday, May 5. The closure will be in place for the duration of the project, until late July. The detour route is Alpine Drive to Puma Street. The Contractor plans to move hydrants on Wednesday and Thursday, May 6 and 7. Interruptions to water service are not anticipated.

April 28, 2026

On Wednesday, April 22, the City held a pre-construction meeting with North Valley, Inc. After the meeting, an update letter was mailed out to property owners within the project area.
