Departments

The City of Ramsey operates seven departments, efficiently housed across four buildings designed to serve community members and businesses best.

The Ramsey Municipal Center, located at 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, serves as the hub for several key departments: Administration, Community Development, Engineering, Finance, and Police.

The Administration Department includes the City Administrator, the City Clerk (who also manages elections), and the Human Resources and Communication divisions. Together, these teams provide leadership, coordinate citywide operations, and ensure transparent communication with residents.

Within the Community Development Department, specialized divisions oversee Building Permits and Inspections, Code Enforcement, Economic Development, Natural Resources and Environment, Planning, Recycling, and the Rental Housing Licensing Program. These divisions ensure the city’s growth is managed responsibly and sustainably.

The Ramsey Public Works Facility, located at 14199 Jasper Street NW, is home to the Parks and Recreation, Streets Maintenance, and Utilities divisions. These teams are essential to maintaining infrastructure and public amenities throughout the city.

Fire Station 1 (15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW) and Fire Station 2 (5650 Alpine Drive NW) are the bases for Ramsey’s Fire Prevention Bureau, which is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community through proactive fire prevention and emergency response.
