Pawnbrokers

Pawnbrokers must be licensed to conduct business in the City of Ramsey. Background checks are completed on each applicant. Per City Code, no more than three pawnbroker-licensed businesses shall be permitted by the city at any one time. 

What You Will Need to Apply

• License $4,000 + $500 (in-state) background check fee
• Completed and signed the Request for Background Check Information form
• Color copy of Driver’s license or government-issued ID
• Certificate of liability and workers’ compensation insurance
• Copy of property tax statement verifying tax status where business is to be located
• Notary Acknowledgment form (with an online application)
• New applicants require a $5000 bond executed by a corporation authorized to do business in the state
