This project proposes to repair damaged concrete panels along Sunwood Drive and Rhinestone Street between Zeolite Street and the Rhinestone Street bridge. This includes completely removing the colored concrete pedestrian crossings at all intersections along the corridor and replacing them with standard concrete and standard marked crosswalk blocks.
Utility testing was performed during project design; the existing watermain valves along Sunwood Drive will need repairs, and the existing storm sewer will also require minor repairs. Because of the utility work and the impacts of fully replacing the colored concrete crossings, Sunwood Drive and Rhinestone Street will require closures. Closures will be phased, and detour routes will be signed during the project.
