Second Hand Goods Dealer

A Second-hand Goods Dealer must be licensed to conduct business in the City of Ramsey. Background checks are completed on each applicant. Business licenses are issued upon approval by the City Council. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Tax ID is required per MN Statute 270C.72. The license is valid through December 31 and can be renewed annually. Refer to City Code Chapter 26, Article XV for ordinance details. 

What You Will Need to Apply

• License $2,000 + $500 background check fee
• Completed and signed the Request for Background Check Information form
• Color copy of Driver’s license or government-issued ID
• Certificate of liability and workers’ compensation insurance
• Copy of property tax statement verifying tax status where business is to be located
• Statement indicating the amount of investment the applicant has in the business
• Notary Acknowledgment form (with an online application)
