Ramsey Encourages Residents to Shop Local on Small Business Saturday

Local businesses are a vital part of our community. Make them part of your holiday plans.

The City of Ramsey invites residents to support local businesses on Small Business Saturday, November 28, and all season long.

Small Business Saturday was founded by American Express in 2010 and has been co-sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) since 2011. It falls between Black Friday and Cyber Monday and marks the start of the busiest shopping season for many small businesses.

Small businesses by the numbers:

  • According to the SBA Office of Advocacy, the United States has more than 36.2 million small businesses.
  • Small businesses employ 62.3 million people, about 46 percent of all private sector workers.
  • Since 2010, consumers have reported spending an estimated $241 billion at small businesses on Small Business Saturday, according to Main Street America.

How to participate

Residents can take part by shopping, dining, or booking services with a Ramsey business on November 28. Small actions also help, such as leaving an online review, sharing a favorite local business on social media, or buying a gift card.
