About the Fire Inspection Department

The Fire Inspection Department is responsible for reviewing new construction plans and inspecting them at various stages of construction to ensure compliance with the Minnesota State Fire Code, City Ordinances, and the Life Safety Code. The Fire Inspection Department also conducts routine life-safety fire inspections of existing commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential structures to ensure continued compliance with the Minnesota State Fire and Building Codes for the safety of building occupants, volunteer firefighters, and our community.
