Community Art Plan

The City of Ramsey, in partnership with the Ramsey Community Foundation, is creating a Community Art Plan. This plan will suggest how and where art can be integrated into public places and community activities in Ramsey.

We want to hear from YOU!

We are gathering resident feedback on what Ramsey means to those who live and work here, as well as what places in the city are unique and beloved. This information will serve as the foundation for the plan’s suggestions on inspiring places to gather, play, and connect.

Saluting our Veterans!

In 2021, the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund issued a call for proposals for memorial projects serving veterans and veteran communities. Veteran and local public art advocates applied for and were awarded grant funding for a project that specifically honors Minnesota women veterans and is presently on display at the Ramsey Municipal Center.
The 10-foot-high, solid-steel memorial celebrates the long history of Minnesota Women serving in the military and their many achievements and contributions. Depicted are a female soldier in combat and a female pilot. Women have proudly served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine—on active duty, in state reserve and guard duty, and as members of the Reserve and National Guard.
Ramsey’s Women Veteran Memorial recognizes the brave and selfless Minnesota women who have served our armed forces with dignity and honor.
Funding and advocacy for this tribute are from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund ($4,725.52), Otsego VFW Post 5518 ($5,000), Mid-State Metal Works, Rumriver Art Center, the City of Ramsey, and the artist SSG Mary J. Horgan, USA, RET.
